This August 21st, the United States will see its first total solar eclipse in a generation.
The darkest part of the Moon’s shadow will shroud all of Cherokee County, but Andrews is the only place in North Carolina where the very centerline of the eclipse's path travels right through town. The maximum eclipse anywhere on the globe for this event is 2 minutes 40.1 sec. In Andrews, NC, totality will last 2 minutes 38.4 sec.
